ACCOMPANYING FILM PROGRAM OF THE EXHIBITION “ALAN FORD RUNNING A LAP OF HONOR”

Part of the exhibition: Alan Ford's Lap of Honour

On the occasion of the exhibition “Alan Ford Running a Lap of Honor”, which is a guest at the Museum of Yugoslavia from December 2, 2020 to January 31, 2021, the Museum of Yugoslav film archive (Kosovska 11) will host an accompanying film program based on the so-called “Alanford Poetics” from December 15, 2020 to January 27, 2021.

As explained by the expert associate at the exhibition, Lazar Džamić, some of the films from the repertoire are directly inspired by “Alan Ford”, others show the atmosphere and humor characteristic of the comic, while some recognize a similar way of building a story, although they might not even be familiar with “Alan Ford”, or they were created before that comic.

The guest exhibition ‟Alan Ford Running the Lap of Honor” by Rok Glavan, was one of the most visited Slovenian cultural events in 2019. It features 152 original drawing boards from the early period (1969-1975), when the recognizable Italian author duo Magnus-Bunker worked on the comic, as well as three title drawings by Paolo Pifareri. The Belgrade exhibition is complemented by rare editions of the comic book ‟Alan Ford” from the collection of Marijan Matić, Vladimir Jakovljević and Mario Reljanović.

The exhibition is organized by the Museum of Yugoslavia and the Institute of Culture and Education from Ljubljana, in cooperation with the National Gallery of Slovenia, the Italian Institute of Culture in Belgrade and the Yugoslav Film Archive.

The realization of the exhibition was helped by Erste Bank and S-Leasing, Vip Mobile, Montprojekt, Traco-invest, Triglav osiguranje and Soko inženjering.
