Summer in the Museum: Dаy of Youth

The Museum of Yugoslavia invites you to celebrate together the Day of Youth and to officially begin the exciting program that awaits us this summer. The band VIS Limunada will open the program with a spectacular performance with a large number of guest performers, followed by a fashion show of summer collections by young local designers. The program will be held on May 25 at the plateau in front of the Museum of Yugoslavia, starting at 20:00; the entrance is free.

VIS Limunada is a Belgrade musical ensemble the work of which is inspired by various aspects of Yugoslav cultural heritage. With their performance during the Summer in the Museum they will conjure up the atmosphere of big festivals from the time of the schlager and rock and roll, the emerging film and fashion industry, and cosmopolitan life described in Ljubomir Radičević’ legendary film Ljubav i moda (Love and Fashion). The music will be followed by the string quartet Intermezzo and the wind section of the Belgrade alternative band Bullet for the Badman, with the choreographic support of the ballet ensemble of the dance studio Pirouette and the children of the Center for Youth Integration’s services users, as well as video projections signed by the KUD Sestre. A special part of the program is the fashion show when the audience will have the opportunity to see for the first time the collection of bathing suits and recreational clothing Limunada Sport, by Tijana Milutinović, Lidija Andrić, Mina Davidović, Ivana Jovanović (Studio Greška), Dušanka Savić (Riverra Swim and Sport) and Elena Dušej (Rein).

The Museum of Yugoslavia, in partnership with the municipality of Savski Venac, launched the project Summer in the Museum with the idea of affirming the Museum as a place for socializing and entertainment. The main goal of the project is to revitalize the plateau in front of the Museum and supplement the summer offer of Belgrade, and consequently to attract a specific target group to museum programs. In this way, the audience that visits the Museum the least will be animated, i.e. the young local audience.
